	James B. Hugins
	James B. Hugins, CPA, has been with the firm since 1974. As a valued, long-time member of the practice, Jim focuses his attention on estate, business, and tax planning, real estate, and tax compliance. A Colorado native and graduate of the University of Colorado with a BS in Accounting, Jim has been a practicing CPA since 1969. He was employed by a national accounting firm in Denver for four years prior to moving west in 1974 to open the Durango office of Hutchison, Hugins & Fredrick, now FredrickZink & Associates, PC. Jim semi-retired from the firm in 1999, but continues to practice with on a modified schedule. Jim has been a member of the Colorado Society of CPA's and American Institute of CPA's since 1970, and served two terms on the former's Board of Directors. Throughout his years in Durango , Jim has donated his time to many local organizations. He is a long-time member of the First Baptist Church , serving on the Youth Ministry Team, and has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Durango Foundation for Educational Excellence. He has served as Chairman for the Cross Bar X Youth Ranch, and Four Corners Young Life. He has also been on the Steering Committee of the La Plata Prevention Partners, and Treasurer of the Hundred Club of Durango. Jim and his wife, Denise, have two children. In his free time, Jim likes to travel, bike ride, run, camp, and spend time with his grandchildren.
